Mini Facelift

Detailed description

A facelift, or facial lifting, aims to rejuvenate the face without changing its basic characteristics. The main reason for seeking this procedure is usually the sagging of the lower jaw and the minute increase of volume in the lower part of the face, giving a person a sad and tired look and completely changing the facial expression with which we communicate with others and how we see ourselves in the mirror.

Previous procedures

Usually, people who have a facelift will have already had some basic aesthetic treatments, such as botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid fillers, but they choose to advance to a facelift procedure either because the previous results can no longer disguise aging or because they want longer-lasting results.

Deep Plane SMAS

This surgery is usually performed with local anesthesia with sedation, and the main technique is the Deep Plane SMAS, that is, a deep lifting that is not limited to "pulling" or stretching the skin. These are antiquated and completely outdated concepts. In this technique, the sagging deep tissues are returned to their proper place because it is not the skin itself which is sagging but the underlying tissue. This is perhaps most distinguishing feature of our facelift results.

Secondary Facelift

Detailed description

In our clinical practice, we often have female patients, particularly those who have had a facelift before, who seek our expertise for a secondary facelift because the tissues have aged again or because they were dissatisfied with the previous results due to:

• dulimited durability of results

• progressive aging

• deformities of the ears and enlarged scars that are too visible

In these cases, it becomes imperative to discuss with the patient the type of technique performed, its limitations, the reasons that led to a more rapid aging process and whether the selected technique or the lack of efficiency to slow aging were cause for unsatisfactory results.

Previous procedures

Normally, the skin will have already been "stretched," and sometimes too much, which, due to its elasticity, will have caused the regression of the effects, the enlargement of the scar and the eventual deformation of the ear. The problem usually lies in the lack of deep tissue remodeling. These cases present ideal conditions for a deep plane SMAS mini facelift.
