Reduction of
buccal fat pads

Buccal fat pads are an anatomical structure made up of fat which tends to increase in volume with age.

When removing the Bichat ball, we must take into account the entire structure of the face and not only associate it with an isolated act. And for that, you need a doctor experienced in facial plastic surgery.

Reduction of
buccal fat pads

Detailed description

Buccal fat pads are an anatomical structure consisting of fat extending from the temporal region to the corners of the mouth, which tend to increase in volume with age.
Their reduction - popularized by a Bichectomy (an incorrect term as it suggests the total removal of the fat pads) - aims to make the face less round and therefore appear younger.
The results are often unsatisfactory due to false expectations, such as a poor diagnosis, as the aging process is far more complex than a simple fat reduction.

Other procedures

Naturally, it is a very interesting intervention for the indicated cases, and it is frequently performed together with other procedures such as a facelift, lip lift or FaceTite, among others.
It can be performed with local anesthesia from inside the mouth or through the facelift incision.
Recovery is quick, and you will be able to resume work the next day.
